  1. This document contains information on installing HiJaak Graphics 
  2. Suite on systems with the following configurations: compressed 
  3. drives; shared Windows installation on a network drive; systems 
  4. using SuperStor 1.0, Stacker 1.0 or Norton Desktop for Windows. 
  5. Finally, it contains information on using a modem during install 
  6. and instructions for deinstalling HiJaak Graphics Suite.

  9. INSTALLING TO A COMPRESSED DRIVE
  10. If you are installing HiJaak Graphics Suite to a drive that has 
  11. been compressed using a program such as Stacker, DoubleSpace or 
  12. SuperStor, you may experience problems if the drive does not have 
  13. significantly more free space than the install requires. 
  14. Compression programs calculate the amount of available space based 
  15. on how much the files will be compressed; they do not calculate 
  16. the actual amount of free space. Since some HiJaak Graphics Suite 
  17. files might not compress as much as the compression program 
  18. calculates, there may not be enough space on the drive. For more 
  19. information, refer to your drive compression software's documentation.

  22. INSTALLING ON SHARED NETWORK WINDOWS INSTALLATIONS
  23. If you are sharing a Windows installation on a network drive, you 
  24. may not have write rights to the WINDOWS and WINDOWS\SYSTEM 
  25. directories. If you do not have write rights to these directories,
  26. you will NOT be able to install HiJaak Graphics Suite. Contact 
  27. your network administrator and have him or her either install the
  28. software for you or give you write rights to these directories so 
  29. you can perform the installation.

  32. USING SUPERSTOR 1.0
  33. The installation software used in HiJaak Graphics Suite is not
  34. compatible with SuperStor version 1.0. If you are using this
  35. version of SuperStor, either install HiJaak Graphics Suite to
  36. an uncompressed drive or update your SuperStor to at least
  37. version 2.0.

  40. USING STACKER 1.0
  41. The installation software used in HiJaak Graphics Suite is not
  42. compatible with Stacker version 1.0. If you are using this
  43. version of Stacker, either install HiJaak Graphics Suite to
  44. an uncompressed drive or update your Stacker to at least
  45. version 2.0.

  48. USING NORTON DESKTOP FOR WINDOWS
  49. The installation of HiJaak Graphics Suite may move the Startup
  50. group on your desktop when it finishes, whether or not you chose 
  51. to put the Smuggler icon in the Startup group. All you
  52. need to do is move the group icon back where you normally keep
  53. it.

  56. USING A MODEM DURING INSTALL
  57. If you are not a pre-registered user of HiJaak Graphics Suite,
  58. then the Install will prompt you to register by modem. Therefore, it 
  59. is recommended that you end any modem connections before installing
  60. HiJaak Graphics Suite.

  64. A NOTE ABOUT DEINSTALLING HIJAAK GRAPHICS SUITE
  65. HiJaak Graphics Suite installs certain DLL and other support
  66. files in order to operate. Some of these files may have already
  67. been present because they are used by other Windows
  68. applications you may have installed.  In this case, removing
  69. the files would cause those other applications to stop operating
  70. correctly.  For this reason, deinstalling HiJaak Graphics Suite
  71. intentionally does not remove these support files.
